Remembering Jesse

We are heartbroken to share that Jesse Schouboe tragically passed away last weekend.

For those of you that didn’t know Jesse, he was a person beyond compare. Jesse gave himself to others so freely, so quickly, and so unabashedly. It didn’t matter who you were - a longtime friend, a hardcore climber, someone brand new to the community, or a stranger on the street. He filled the world and our community with his endless light. And for those of you that are fortunate to have gotten to laugh, share a conversation, gone on a trip, climbed at the gyms, or walked to get a croissant and cup of coffee with Jesse, you know what a privilege it is to have shared in that light with him. It’s something that he gave to all of us, something we get to keep. Next time you have a moment of reflection, look around. His light is here with us, a part of us, and he would want us to share it with the world.

If you are able to lend support to Jesse’s family, a family friend has set up a GoFundMe to help with medical and vet bills for Jesse’s wife, Jenifer, their unborn child, and their beloved dog, Sierra.

Jesse's funeral will be held on Sunday, March 7th, at 12:00PM. Because of Covid-19 restrictions, the number of people allowed to attend is very limited and there will be a live stream of the event. Visit their GoFundMe page for information if you would like to attend virtually.
