Climber Essentials (Under $25)
  • Chalk: Trust me, we can never have enough. Splurge on the good stuff, like Friction Labs or Midnight Lightning – these are basically the fancy wine of the climbing world, and your climber will definitely notice the difference.
  • Headlamp: Nothing's worse than getting caught at the crag after sunset without one. Look for something with a red light feature – it comes in clutch for when you don't want to blind your climbing crew!
  • Skin Care Kit: Climbing destroys hands, period. Hook them up with a file, clippers, climbing balm (like Rhino!), and some climbing tape. Their finger tips will thank you during their next session.
  • Stickers: Because what's a climber without some stickers? Stickers make the perfect decoration for your water bottle, your laptop, your fridge, your car… we could probably go on forever, but you get the point! Look for stickers at your local gym or try and snag some from your climber’s favorite climbing brands or crags!
Mid-Range Gifts ($25-100)
  • Technical clothing: A good beanie isn't just for looking cool at the gym (though it definitely helps). It's essential for keeping warm during send-temp season. Same goes for a good pair of climbing pants - they're like a second skin for moving on the wall.
  • Punch Passes + Gift Cards: Perfect for the occasional climber or someone who loves bringing friends along. Stop by any Movement location to grab a 7-visit pass or a gift card (climbers can be particular about their gear, let them choose their own!) - they make excellent stocking stuffers.
  • Portable Training Board: On-the-go finger training boards have seen a huge jump in popularity over the years. And now, they’re affordable, too ($40-$100) depending on your brand/board preference! The Tension Flash Board, sold in our gear shop, is a game-changer for warming up at the crag or getting a quick workout in at home. Plus, it's super packable for climbing trips.
Big-Wall Budget ($100+)
  • Climbing Shoes: The ultimate gift for any climber - but maybe bring them into our gear shop to try some on. Every foot is different, and sizing is crucial. Our staff can help find the perfect fit!
  • Puffy Jacket: The unofficial uniform of climbers everywhere. It's not just for looking cool - a good puffy is necessary for staying warm between burns, especially outdoors!
  • Gear Bag: Nothing says "I love you" quite like a sturdy bag to haul all their gear. Look for one with good organization and comfortable straps. We’d recommend basically anything by Cotopaxi + Black Diamond, but there are TONS of options out there – do your research!
  • Crash Pad: For the boulderer in your life – you can basically never have enough (although their apartment storage space might say otherwise). You know they’ll come in handy some day!

The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Want to really show your love? Hook them up with a Movement membership. It's basically like saying "I support your climbing addiction" in the best possible way. They'll get unlimited access to climbing, yoga, and fitness, plus they'll think of you every time they crush a new project!

Pro tip: Not sure exactly what they need? Our gear shops are staffed with fellow climbers who live and breathe this stuff. Stop by any Movement location and our team can help you find the perfect gift for your favorite sender!
