Meet Movement FTV's New Director Team!

Women Rock Climbing | Climbing Community | What's New

STEP BROTHERS-2Here at Movement Fountain Valley, we're so psyched to introduce our new gym director team. We'd like you all to meet Tiff, who stepped into the Gym Director Role back in October, and Tara who became our Assistant Gym Director earlier this November. Together, they make up “TnT” — a powerhouse team dedicated to keeping the stoke alive and the community thriving.

Tiff and Tara aren’t new faces around here. They’ve each been integral parts of the Movement family for years, bringing their passion for climbing and community to every aspect of what they do.

Meet Tiff!

Tiff has been a cornerstone of Movement Fountain Valley since day one! She helped open the gym in 2019 as a Front Desk Supervisor and later stepped into the role of Assistant Gym Director before becoming our Gym Director. She's looking forward to push the climbing industry in a positive direction and continue to cultivate the gym that has meant so much to her for so long. Learn more about Tiff below!

STEP BROTHERS (1)-1What is your favorite climbing area?

Black Mountain holds a lot of meaning for me. It's one of the first areas I started falling off boulders and where I met my partner!

What is your favorite way to relax?

I really enjoy playing video games! I'm currently playing Elden Ring, but I don't know if it's my favorite way to necessarily "relax" as much as it's my favorite way to rage.

What is a unique, funny, or interesting piece of trivia about you?

Before I discovered climbing, my first love was racing cars! I drove a modified but naturally aspirated Mazda Miata NB1 and frequented Willow Springs International Raceway.

Meet Tara!

Tara started at Colorado Movement gyms in 2018, where she started as a Fitness + Yoga Instructor and was most recently Fountain Valley's Fitness Program Manager. She is passionate about climbing, yoga, and fitness, and is excited to unite all three departments to support, empower, and elevate the entire system. She looks forward to embracing growth and change while ensuring the gym remains a safe, welcoming, and playful space for everyone who walks through our doors.

STEP BROTHERS (2)-1How did you get started on your climbing yoga or fitness journey?

My fitness and yoga journeys have been lifelong. I began working as a personal trainer in NYC in 2014, then pursued a yoga certification in 2016. Through some "Side Quests", my path took me to Denver in 2017 where I discovered my love not only for ROCKS and Nature, but also for MOVEMENT Gyms! I started as a Fitness + Yoga Instructor at Baker and spent 5 years in Denver climbing, hiking, scrambling, and WORSHIPPING rocks. Climbing satiates my appetite for expansion physically, mentally, and spiritually.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Being OUTSIDE!!! I prioritize play and joy and I experience those most when I am MOVING and IN NATURE. My favorite non-gym ways to move are ecstatic dance/5rhythms, trail running, and roller skating. My favorite non-movement activities are meditating, reading, painting, and singing.

What is something you want to say to the community?

Movement has been a sacred space for me, personally, and I intend to nurture and protect that for others, by imbuing this space with infectious optimism, inspiring radical confidence and cultivating authentic connections.

If you are ever in SoCal, be sure to stop by Fountain Valley to try out some boulders and meet our team!
