We came up with this fun little challenge, and trust us, it's way more intense and fun than it sounds. Welcome to the “Is it Chalk or Is it Flour?” challenge. Think you can tell the difference? We tried this challenge on climbers at Movement and we were surprised by the reactions, answers, and curiosity. Tip: we used gluten-free flour instead of regular flour to get a closer texture to chalk!

What's this challenge even about?
Honestly, it started as a random idea at the gym. What if we filled two chalk bags, one with actual chalk and the other with flour, and made people guess which was which just by touch? No looking, no sniffing, just good ol’ feel-it-out instinct.
It sounds easy enough, right? Like, we all use chalk all the time, you’d think we’d know what it feels like. But once people stuck their hands in, you could see the hesitation. It totally threw folks off. Some got overly confident. Some doubted themselves immediately. One person said, “Wait… this is really hard??”
It ended up being this super simple but hilarious way to engage our community and get people laughing. And honestly, it was kind of fun watching everyone’s reactions when they made their guess.

How Do You Join the Fun?
Ready to show off your chalk knowledge? Here’s what you have to do:
- Pick the right flour: Choose something white and powdery—like flour or anything that looks like chalk. The goal is to throw off your friends, so go for a texture that closely matches climbing chalk to really confuse them. (We used gluten free flour.)
- Film your buddies: Set the scene and have your friends guess whether it’s chalk or flour. Make sure they're not peeping into the bag.
